Unit 3: Self-Directed Research

For the final leg of the semester, students will engage in a self-directed research project that has three parts to it: annotated bibliography, paper, & project.

Each part is worth 100 points (300 points total). Budget your time – many projects will be due in the same time frames as these assignments. Poor planning results in high stress cramming sessions which produce poor quality work and reduced grades.

We will access resources below – all work is also posted in D2L. I’m posting here for easy cell phone / non Chromebook access for those who need some flexibility.

Purdue OWL Annotated Bibliographies

Scribbr is a good site – easy to access and has info on APA and MLA.

Purdue OWL APA Format – I STRONGLY recommend anyone going into the sciences to practice using APA for this project!!! (<– see? I even used exclamation points for emphasis!)

Purdue OWL MLA Format – standard for folks going into the Humanities or who have other post-high-school career plans. (<–no exclamation points needed here.)
